The wait is finally over as the India release date of James Cameron's Avatar 2, officially titled Avatar: The Way Of Water , was announced today, April 28.

The second instalment of the sci-fi franchise will release on December 16, 2022. This is almost thirteen years after the release of the original Avatar.

After unveiling the first glimpse of Avatar 2 at CinemaCon 2022, the makers have now treated fans to the official title, logo and India release date of the magnum opus.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Instagram to share the same with the fans of the new film of the science-fiction franchise.

Ever since its inception, the makers have been doing their best not to spill any beans about the plot of Avatar’s sequels.

Only recently, the first footage of the sequels was shown at CinemaCon 2022, in Las Vegas. As per reports, CinemaCon attendees were given 3D glasses to enjoy the trailer.

While the clip contained almost no dialogue, the exhibitors did immerse into different regions, getting a glimpse of the dazzling world of Pandora, along with the planet's crystal blue oceans and lakes.

Avatar is a 2009 science fiction film helmed, written, produced, and co-edited by James Cameron.

The first Avatar film featured Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver.

Avatar is set in the mid-22nd century when humans have just began colonising a habitable moon in the Alpha Centauri star system, called Pandora.
